While you’re staying at the Valley River RV Resort, you’ll find plenty of time to rest and relax. Once you’ve rested up from the stress of everyday life, you may want to stretch your legs and get out into the sun and fresh air. Nature is something that you’ll find in abundance here in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountains. While you can just step outside to see the beauty of nature, there are several spots to check out near us.
Walking the River
Murphy’s River Walk is a great way to stretch out your legs and to see some great views. You’ll follow the Valley River and the Hiwassee River that surrounds the historic town center of Murphy. This two-mile walk includes a center loop at the confluence of these two rivers. Not interested in walking? Consider travelling along the canoe trails to enjoy the sights and sounds.
Fire is the thing
Another beautiful piece of America is Fire Creek Falls, located in the Fires Creek Recreational Area. It features a 25-mile hiking trail for the serious hiker willing to tackle some difficult hiking and is interested in majestic views and the beauty of nature. Check out the Fire Creek Falls and relax near the cool, running water.
Consider taking a short 30-minute drive to visit Hiwassee Dam. There you’ll see the lovely water and the amazing structure of the dam. While you’re there, enjoy a peaceful picnic as you watch the calm waters lap at the shore.
